TetriGen v1.00
Today I saw a new TetriNET client was
released, called TetriGen. I downloaded
it and played around with it a bit, and here are my thoughts on
it...
What I thought was neat was that in the fields area everything is movable. Neat, yes... Practical? I don't think so. There are not many ways to arrange the objects that would give you any benefit over the default layout of the original tetrinet and blocktrix. It allows you to enlarge fields (so does blocktrix) by double clicking on them, and it does allow multiple fields to be enlarged at once, which may have some potential advantages.
In the connection area, it has the ability to use a 'ping' to keep the connection alive, and the ability to add 'buddies'... Both of these features are already available for blocktrix via scripts (notify.tcl and antiidle.tcl).
Performance wise, I noticed that the players list box and the game chat line add text very slowly, compared to blocktrix and aTwin.
Overall, I thought it gave a semi-fresh feel to tetrinet, however still seemed outdated. The program itself still lacks LOADS of functionality that Blocktrix and aTwin have introduced to the tetrinet scene. I don't know if this will be the only release of TetriGen. If the author does continue its development, it does have potential.
My 2 pennies...

Circus with the nieces
Took my two nieces to see the
Garden Bros. Circus
yesterday.. Was kinda boring... I found out it's very difficult
taking two young children on all by one's self... The wee little
one was more focused on the people around her, and trying to run
away, instead of paying attention to the show... Guess you could
say that little girl wanted to run around the circus, not to it....
*sigh* Ah well... gotta love them ;)
Also got to see the final product of an event program I had designed in hard copy format... Was my first one, that I did for my friend's fundraising company... and I must say, it turned out really well, if I do say so myself... *pats on back*

Nanoblogger Bash Web Interface v0.02
Here's v0.02 of the Nanoblogger Bash Web
Interface... It's been renamed from just Nanoblogger Web Interface
to include "Bash" in the name, as I found out someone else had a
project with the same name, so to avoid confusion, I changed the
name of this one (I couldn't actually find the other project
anywhere on the net to download, however).
Anyway, here's a list of changes since v0.01:
Hope you like... :)

Carolina Eastern Conference Champions
Carolina Hurricanes defeated the
Buffalo Sabres tonight, 4-2 in game 7 of the eastern conference
finals. I'm slightly disappointed, as I had predicted that the
winner of the cup this year would be the winner of the
Buffalo/Ottawa series earlier on in the playoffs. Looks like I was
wrong. Well, atleast Edmonton is in the Stanley Cup final, and
being Canadian, atleast that takes out some of the disappointment

Blocktrix 0.63 Beta
Released Blocktrix 0.63 Beta last
night. Blocktrix is a network multi-player puzzle game, based on
TNet, where blocks descend
and you must arrange them to complete full horizontal lines. The
more lines you complete at a single time, the more lines get added
to your opponents. Additional to that is special blocks that you
collect when you clear lines that contain them, which you can then
use to attack opponents, or use to make your field better.
Changes between 0.63 and 0.62 are as follows:
Changes between 0.63 and 0.62 are as follows:
- Added Unicode Support for WinNT/2K/XP OS's, which enables support for multi-byte languages. - Updated lobby servers - Updated Tcl/Tk engine to 8.4.13You can find more about Blocktrix here. Hope you enjoy! :)
